So this year was my first year selling in Artist Alleys at conventions.
I sold at Sakura-Con, Nagu-Con, Mini-Con, and Kumori-Con. I was going to sell at Anime Fargo, but communication with them wasn't that great so I had to break it off with them unfortunately.
Anyway, I had an awesome time selling my artwork, making new friends, and meeting a ton of people! It's just an awesome feeling being surrounded by other artists, and speaking with them on a more personal level rather than just computer screens and keyboards. I met with a lot of artists that I really looked up to, and they were all very nice and helpful with advice that they gave. Sakura-Con
I'm making the weird face because Shilin's right behind me, Yuumei was diagonal from me, and Finni was behind me in the next aisle Kumori-Con
It's just wicked awesome to be able to sell at conventions. There's just so much energy at them, and so many people with similar interests (duh). I actually met with several people from DA who visited me at my tables, and everyone was very nice! It's just crazy because I never thought that I could ever get to this point. I have a lot of days when self doubt consumes me, and it can be kinda hard to break through it.
But....you just got to keep plugging away.
Anyway, I'm going to shoot for even more conventions next year. I'm going to stick around the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, and Midwest areas for conventions (East coast is too far away for me ;_; ). I'll also be bringing in some new product to my table, such as buttons and more comics and prints.
And just to remind you all, I'm still having my end of the year sale over at my Storenvy Shop
